Music
like dance and drama, takes time to be performed. So we
can't say we've heard or seen it until the end.
Paintings can be seen all at once but it takes time to hear
a whole piece of music.

Music
can be organised in layers or parts. in this example there
are three parts:
low (bass), mid (chords) and high (melody).
There
is probably one pop song that you know well. Think about
the layers it has:
lead singer? backing vocals? guitar? bass guitar? keyboard?
drum kit - this could be broken down into all the different
drums and cymbals with a layer each!
